Militants attacked an army camp in Nagrota in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning, according to the report . The attack started in the early morning 5.30 am when militants started firing at a field regiment camp in the garrison town of Nagrota near the headquarter’s of army’s 16 corps in the state.
According to sources, two terrorists and three army jawans were killed and some were critically injured in the clashes between security forces and terrorists in two separate locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. All the nearby areas are on high alert. A few terrorists attacked an army unit in Nagrota as well. Sources said a strict alert and security put into action for the safety and security of the army troops
In another gunfight, that is happened 70km away from Nagrota, three infiltrators were killed and six BSF men, including a DIG, were injured near the International Border of Samba sector. There was no official confirmation yet about the soldier’s deaths, but according to the sources, the militants imagined to be three to four in number.
A very energetic firing is on at 166 medium control at Nagrota which is nearby Jammu and Srinagar highway. An intelligence source said, adding three army men were dead and two injured. The injured were shifted to a military hospital nearest one in Satwari, sources said.
“We will share information all the information related to the fight once it will get over. As Firing is still going on but the situation is under control,” Defence PRO Manish Mehta told ANI. According to Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, Simrandeep Singh said, we have ordered for all the schools and institution centers to be closed in Nagrota tehsil in view of the terror attack and for the safety of the people. And traffic has been stopped on the Jammu-Udhampur highway for the protection. The area has been blocking off. Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed, while all the entry points to Jammu have been sealed and is on high alert. The gunbattle is still ongoing.
A high alert has been sounded and security beefed up in Katra, Udhampur and other religious places including Vaishno Devi, for the safety of people. All the areas are covered with the protection. All the vehicles have been conducting regular checking. Army soldiers are all set for out-of-circulating fight and information will be updated for the further considerations.
