According to Government, The report came out  on Monday where it is declared that the school in Kashmir would remain open in winters as well. However, it is not clarified whether the winter schooling is optional or mandatory for all the students. But according to the ‘Director of school education of Kashmir, Ajiaz Ahmad Bhat told KNS over the phone that the news came out about the school would remain open during winters are not true. We have not made any decision or any announcement related to the news till date.

He said the department would submit their proposal to the administrative department and an official announcement will be made after the approval of the administrative department.  Bhat also added that the authorities will apply winter schooling option for higher secondary classes but he also clarifies the winter schooling option will not be mandatory for all the students but it will be optional. He is also added that the department  is working to provide better and quality education to all the students and for that very soon department will create fifty coaching center at selected places in every district. He also mentioned that the department is taking all the important steps to improve and provide the quality education to all the students who are living there. And the steps are being taken in both academic and co-curricular activities as well.

Prolonged the closure of schools in Kashmir, the higher authorities have been decided to waive off the term 2nd term for all the students from nursery class to 9th and for 11th class students who would be placed in higher class on the basis of their performance in their 1st term.

Bhat announced that school would be kept open for all the students with all the facilities and for tuitions the student’s competitive exams. it is also dependent on the students who wants to avails these facilities available in the schools during the winter days. But from the department side, schools and faculty will be available in the school.
