Volvo Cars recently announced that it is going to install Skype for Business in all its cars in 90 series segment. The company stated that they are going to be the first in the industry to install the feature into their infotainment system.
Volvo said that their idea for installing the Skype for Business in the car came into their mind after seeing the usage of the software app which is currently being used by millions of people all over the world. The software allows the user to connect to another user or users from around the world. The usage of Skype in businesses is going to another level. Businessmen tend to conduct their conferences, seminars, meetings etc. using Skype for Business. It connects a conference video call among the various users and also allows the user to send files like photos, videos, audio or data.
Volvo believes that people often feel scattered using Skype while driving or even while sitting in the moving car because of all the movements that occur. So they are installing the feature inside the car which will use the mounted camera in the console, for the video calling purposes. Volvo believes that now it will be very convenient for the users to use Skype for Business inside the car.
In the announcement, Vice President Consumer Connectivity Services at Volvo Group Anders Tylman-Mikiewicz said “We’ve all been there. Sitting in the car trying to join a conference call. You either fumble with or drop your phone while trying to connect or you forget the long pin code to join. It’s not the best way to start an important call in the car. On the top of all that your attention is not where it should be- on the road. With the addition of Skype for Business all that goes away.”
Volvo has always been ahead in making its customers’ drives easier, safe and comfortable. On the words from the Skype for Business, They expressed that Volvo made them realize that nature of work is increasingly mobile and everyone needs to be productive from anywhere. The company is excited to work with the carmaker.
