Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani 2 a suspense thriller starred Vidhya Balan’s (Durga Rani Singh) as lead role Arjun Rampal as Sub-inspector Inderjeet Singh. The film has received combined reviews from critics, but with theaters screening shows with the average number of viewers, it looks like the numbers will increase over the days to come. Moreover, Sujoy Ghosh created the rhythms of mother and daughter’s relationship and their common lives. They live in a sleepy, small town near Kolkata. It feels like a safe and secure haven. Although then Vidya’s daughter Mini suddenly disappears or kidnapped and the story takes a turn.

Kahaani 2 have been observed as an average movie begin at the domestic box-office, with the collection of just Rs. 4.25 crore but the things are now turning in favour of the movie. According to the sources, the movie evident an estimate of approximate 36% hike on day second by collecting an estimate of Rs 5.76 crore. In two days of release across 1235 screens around India, the film has collected Rs.10.04 on the second day of release. Ultimately vidya’s lead role saves the show. Her performance is brilliant, tremendous and commendable review by Anupama Chopra.

As a matter of fact, the Kahaani 2, lead role performed by Durga Rani Singh and Kahaani 2 is completely a different movie from former Kahaani, the story line as well as the featured characters are not relation in simple terms we can say that Kahaani 2 is not the sequel of Kahaani but still it is named as Kahaani 2 the writer and director of both films Sujoy Ghosh describes that Kahaani is taken as a genre, a genre about the powerful and strong women.

What else to be delineated, the first half of Kahaani 2 is splendidly established. The story discloses in recalls as sub-inspector Inderjeet Singh reads Vidya’s diary there comes a twist in the movie. audiences are then introduced to Mini’s nasty grandmother and slightly awful uncle (Amba Sanyal and Jugal Hansraj) and the calmly heroic Arjun Rampal. Editor Namrata Rao keeps the pace breathless throughout the film, not even a single moment is missed. On the other hand, everything becomes predictable and believable that it loses its essence in terms of suspense, the story becomes clumsy, as a whole, the film hasn’t hit the box-office as expected by the audience, ultimately one can say unsatisfactory movie.

But still, recommend to audiences  watch this film — for that killer and thriller first-half and for the extraordinary execution of Balan.
