Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most intense actors Bollywood has got. He has been successful in moving the audience with his work many times. Once again he is all set to rule the hearts with his upcoming movie Haraamkhor, dated to release on January 13, 2017, is believed to set benchmarks for acting.
Whatsoever role Bollywood threw at Nawaz, he did it heartily. May it be a negative role of the psychopath (Liak) in Badlapur or a full bang on gangster from Gangs of Wasseypur. Viewer always appreciated his character. He never let his fans down. This is yet another chance for Mr. Awesome to show the industry that talent is not bound to anything by his forthcoming film Haraamkhor.
Talking about the movie now. Haraamkhor starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi (seen earlier in movie Masaan) in lead roles.Siddiqui, who always sets the bar for acting will be seen playing a teacher in part of rural India, finds himself in a relationship with a girl. Sandhya (Shweta Tripathi) is also in love with the teacher but, due to social and cultural restrictions, they find it hard to explore that emotion.
The movie was banned in 2015 by CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) saying that this movie portrays education department in a bad way. Ashok Pandit now retired filmmaker, condemned the Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani for the ban. He said that this action proves Nihalani chasing the world on his term with his archival minds. The board expressed displeasure over bold scenes, vulgar dialogues, and not so social body language. “Hence, ‘refused’ because of its theme itself,” the CBFC wrote in its rejection letter.
The maker Guneet Monga and Director Shlok Sharma appealed in Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT). The both director and maker said that the tribunal heard their side of the story and also watched the film, concluding that the movie is educative and should be shown to as many people. After the verdict in movie’s favor, CBFC cleared the film with U/A certificate. The duo further displayed their affection for getting U/A certificate rather than a complete ban.
In 1999 Nawaz made his debut in Bollywood with movie ‘Sarfarosh’, he played a small role in that. His first lead role came in Prashant Bhargava’s film Patang which was shown at Berlin International Film festival. His performance made directors notice his potential for more powerful roles. Belonging to a not so furnished family from Muzaffarnagar, UP, he has achieved a lot. Shweta Tripathi is debuting as lead actress, she was earlier seen Masaan and her performance was duly appreciated.
