It’s been 2 years since Motorola made nexus 6 made its debut. The device is still one of the best out in the market. This could be a reason why Google didn’t abandon the Lad and announced it is going get the latest Android update, 7.x.x Nougat.

Earlier, Google rolled out Nougat 7.1.1 OTA update for Nexus 6P. Users all around the world have reported few bugs one of those is forcing the phone to shut down even when the battery is at 10-60 percent capacity. The same minor bug surfaced when google was to release the update for nexus 6, which pushed them to delay it until January. The Owners will have to wait for a little longer to taste the new 7.1.1.

Google has already said it will support devices for two years. Announcing the nougat update for Nexus 6 was nothing but excess butter on toast. This could be due to the delay in 7.0 OTA update. Nougat will bring many new features that earlier were limited to only Pixel devices except the Night Light mode and Daydream VR due to the hardware constraints. While Nexus 6P is facing bootloop problem after the 7.1.1 update. Google has apologized for the occurred issue. It seemed the problem did not persist only on nougat devices but on the previous versions as well. The devices purchased from google store were among the faulty ones. Google Store support, upon contact, said it will take 3-4 days for google to figure out the issue.

Other manufacturers have also started testing Android Nougat on their devices. Meanwhile, reports are coming that Moto Z users in started receiving 7.0 update. Honor has announced its Nougat rollout to Honor 8, in February. Sony is not far behind in the race of updates and has already begun seeding to Z5, Z4, Xperia XZ and other devices. Xiaomi’s MI5 has already earned Nougat while the timeline for its other devices will be made official soon.
