Suzuki is back with the latest version of their iconic car Suzuki Swift known as Maruti Suzuki Swift in India. Suzuki has today launched the all new Suzuki Swift 2017 in Japan. The newer version of Swift will be the third generation for Swift. The car carries the same body language of the older swift but still there are many evident changes made in this 2017 version like the new headlamps and grill. The first look of the car gives an updated look.
The company launched the car with six variants powered with two different petrol engine. The car is based on new ‘Heartect’ which makes the car both rigid and lightweight. The car has been launched with many new features but we are not sure whether all the features will be available for the Indian version. The headlamps feature projector lamps. Japan will also be getting the RS version for the car which will feature bumper extensions, side skirts, rear spoilers and rear fog lamps.
Indian version will get almost the same identical exterior of the Japanese version. The bigger developments are seen inside the cabin of the car where Suzuki has added a lot new features. Media player is equipped with touchscreen panel with wide navigation system. The steering wheel has many mounted controls which are easily accessible for the driver. There is also a 4.2 inch LCD screen between the instrument panels right in front of driver’s eyes. Suzuki has installed Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
The Japanese version has some other features as well which include automatic brake assist called dual sensor brake support, There is also lane departure warning system and a laser radar mitigation system. The new Swift comes with automatic high beam assist function and cruise control as well. Unfortunately, Indian version will not be equipped with all these features but we can expect automatic beam assist, front and curtain airbags and cruise control for the Indian version.
Suzuki Swift 2017 is expected to make its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year. Car will be available for sale in Japan on January 4, 2017. The price of the car is expected to be in range between – INR 7.79 and INR 10.70 lacs.
The car is expected to strike back in the compact car segment as the old Swift has been a people’s choice for a long time but was later started getting competitions from Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo.
