Trump Intend To Cancel Boeing Deal For Redesigning President’s Aircraft

U.S President-Elect Donald Trump, who won the Presidential elections in November, has urged the govt. to cancel the Air Force One deal with Boeing Co, which will cost the govt. with huge bills. Boeing is assigned to make a redesigned version of the Aircraft ‘Air Force One’ which carries the President of the United States and has been a huge symbol in the history of U.S Presidency. Trump expressed his views through a tweet which says “Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force one for the future Presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!”

Though Boeing has not been given the money yet, The company says that the replacements for the two aircrafts will take place in 2024. Boeing, who have been builiding planes for U.S Presidents since 1943, has claimed that the cost said by Trump is exaggerated. Commenting on the deal, Company said that “We are currently under contract for $170 million to help determine the capabilities of these complex military aircraft that serve unique requirements of the President of the United States.”

The current Boeing used by the President is the 747 model and it is equipped some high-end military features and requirements of the President. It has an Oval President Office, Medical room, Dining room, Conference room, Guard room. Other than President’s Office, It has a President’s Suite which has a built-in dressing room, shower and gym. It possesses the best communication and defense technology.

Donald Trump is often heard criticizing companies or foreign countries as far as businesses are concerned. Interestingly, The tweet from Donald Trump came in 20 minutes after a story has been posted in which Boeing CEO criticized Trump’s views on trading. Moreover, a sudden decrease in the Boeing stocks was seen on Tuesday morning after the tweet by Trump.

First Billionaire-President of the United States, Donald Trump currently uses Boeing 757 for traveling. It is furnished with white leather and gold, a huge flat-screen TV and a bedroom. Trump does not allow reporters inside his aircraft whereas there is a specific seating arrangements inside Air Force One for reporters. Trump will switch from his aircraft to the Air Force One aircraft after taking over the Presidential Office in January.
