Taiwanese tech giant Acer introduced a whole new lineup of gizmos. Starting off with the world’s first gaming laptop with a curved display, Predator 21X, in world’s largest technology trade show CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017.
The company sprinted to las vegas to reveal their monster products. The curved display laptop is meant for gamers. The predator series is already known for its massive form factor, big display, and top-end hardware. The new 21X (GX21-71) has a 21-inch curved panel with a 2,560×1,080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, powered by intel’s front-line processors. The monster runs Windows 10 out of the box.
If the predator is called one of the most powerful rigs out there then it would not be wrong. Inside the bulky body, it has Intel’s 7th generation Corei7 7820HK Kaby Lake processor with a massive 64GB RAM and two NVIDIA’s greatest GPU, GeForce GTX 1080, ever made. Based on Pascal Architecture, this by far the most advanced GPU any laptop has got. Extreme gaming comes with a price, the price here is not monetary but technical. Gaming generates a lot of heat but, Acer has taken care of that too. The laptop gets 5 cooling fans and 9 heat diffusion pipes, to cool off the temperature.
The rig offers a 512GB SSD or 1TB HDD storage. Acer has put some latest game enhancing tools to raise the gaming experience. Predator sense is one of them, giving a user access to overclocking, fan rotation speed and keyboard, which is full sized mechanical, lights changing. In the sound section, the laptop is wheel to wheel with its hardware. It has put 4 speakers and 2 sub-woofer for an intense sound experience. The laptop was first announced at IFA held in September 2016. The Predator 21X has been priced at jaw-dropping $9,000 and will be starting to ship out from February. Acer in CES 2017 showcased its other goodies too.
Acer Aspire V Nitro and Acer Aspire VX 15 the series targets serious gamers who look for budget laptops for gaming. Both the models come with Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. The V Nitro’s Graphics card can be upgraded to a 6GB GDDR5 VRAM of GTX 1060 and 16Gigs of RAM upgradeable up to 32GB. It Nitro comes in two display options of 15 and 17-inch. While the Aspire VX 15, on the other hand, gets larger cooling vents. The V Nitro black edition will be made available next month February. The 15-inch variant has been priced at $1,199 and the 17-inch at $1,399 respectively. You can bring Aspire VX 15 home paying just $799.
Acer Chromebook N7 powered by Intel Celeron N3060 processor and 4Gigs of RAM. It comes in two storage variants of 16/32GB. With 4090mAH battery, the company touts a battery backup of around 12hours. N7 has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-fi 802.11 nad 3USB Ports and is priced at $229. It will be made available later this month.
